It was palpable. After the workshop, there was empathy - people understood that creating a website is actually quite hard, everyone thinks differently.

Our Approach.

We used a qualitative approach to isolate three major user archetypes that AIMS’ website served. From this qualitative work, we were able to bring key AIMS stakeholders on the journey to redesign with us, smoothing the path to change.

The main methods used incuded:

  • Virtual card sorting
  • Dendrogram analysis to demonstrate conceptual groupings
  • Content analysis

The AIMS project took place during the COVID-19 pandemic, and was run 100% remotely. Using SAAS tools and Zoom, we produced:

  • Three market-validated user archetypes to guide website and content design
  • Training session on writing for the web to help skill up internal content staff
  • A new Information Architecture validated with all three archetypes as well as internal stakeholders
